Brownie-walnut Pie

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 10
  • 1 pie crust (refrigerated works fine)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, cut up
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 transfer pie to pie plate, trim crust to 1/2 inch beyond the pie plate. fold under extra pastry, crimp edges, set aside.
  • 3 for filling: in heavy saucepan melt butter and chocolate over low heat, stirring frequently. cool for 20 minutes.
  • 4 in a large bowl combine eggs, sugar, flour, and vanilla. stir in chocolate mixture and nuts. pour into pastry crust.
  • 5 bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until knife inserted comes out clean. transfer to wire rack and cool for 1 hour before cutting.
