Celery Casserole

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 4 1/2 cups sliced celery
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1/8 cup chopped green pepper

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350. lightly grease or spray a casserole dish.
  • 2 in a large skillet, saute sliced celery, chopped onion and sliced mushrooms in butter for about 15 minutes or until tender.
  • 3 stir in flour, salt, black pepper and garlic powder; cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • 4 gradually add milk and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly.
  • 5 add 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese and stir until melted. stir chopped green pepper.
  • 6 pour into prepared baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.
  • 7 sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese and bake an additional 5 minutes.
  • 8 serve.
