Cajun Ponchartrain Sauce

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 8 fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 8 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream
  • garlic (i like a bunch)
  • black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons madeira wine

Recipe

  • 1 in a medium saucepan, saute mushrooms and garlic in 1 teaspoon butter until tender.
  • 2 stir in shrimp and cook until pink.
  • 3 transfer to bowl.
  • 4 in same saucepan melt remaining 2 teaspoons butter.
  • 5 slowly mix in cream.
  • 6 stir in shrimp and mushroom mixture and black pepper.
  • 7 simmer over very low heat until thick.
  • 8 just before serving stir in wine.
