Cajun Style Lamb

Total Time: 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 4 lamb chops, thick and boneless
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup wine
  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 in a large skillet, brown lamb shops on both sides in a little of the butter. sprinkle with salt and cayenne pepper. remove from skillet and set aside.
  • 2 add remaining butter to skillet. add chopped onion and garlic. saute for a few minutes until soft, but not browned.
  • 3 add bay leaf, paprika, black pepper and thyme leaves. stir to combine. add chicken broth and wine.
  • 4 heat to simmer.
  • 5 return lamb chops to skillet. simmer, covered, over medium heat for about 20 minutes.
  • 6 remove chops.
  • 7 add sour cream to sauce in pan. stir. heat slowly, stirring. season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • 8 pour sauce over lamb. service with steamed rice and broccoli.
