Cecily's Amish Asparagus In A Bacon-cheese Sauce

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1 cup shredded velveeta cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 1/2 lbs asparagus, trimmed
- 4 slices bacon, cooked crisp
- 1/2 cup water
Recipe
- 1 melt the butter in a saucepan and then add flour stir and cook until smooth and bubbly.
- 2 carefully whisk in milk.
- 3 cook, whisking constantly until sauce is thickened.
- 4 stir in salt and cheese until cheese is melted.
- 5 then a couple spoonfuls of bacon drippings.
- 6 cook asparagus in salted wateruntil crisp tender, 3-4 minutes.
- 7 drain and add cheese sauce
- 8 top with bacon.
