Apple Baked Ham

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1 (8 -9 lb) fully cooked bone-in spiral-cut ham
  • 18 -20 whole cloves
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 apples, peeled, cored and sliced (such as fuju or braeburn)
  • 2/3 cup apple jelly
  • 2 tablespoons safeway select seasoned rice vinegar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard

Recipe

  • 1 1. preheat oven to 275 degrees. remove ham from wrapper and place cut side down in large roasting or baking pan. stud ham with cloves. cover tightly with foil and bake 1 hour, 20 minutes (10 minutes per pound).
  • 2 2. meanwhile, in a medium skillet melt butter over medium heat. add apples, cook and stir 2 minutes. stir in jelly, vinegar and mustard; cook 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until slightly thickened. remove skillet from heat; set aside.
  • 3 3. remove ham from oven: raise heat to 375 degrees. uncover ham and spoon apple mixture over ham. return ham to oven; bake, uncovered, 20 minutes or until glaze and apples are golden.
