Amazing Double Chocolate Truffles

Ingredients

- 6 ounces semisweet baking chocolate, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup whipping cream
- 12 ounces chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons shortening
Recipe
- 1 melt baking chocolate in a heavy saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly.
- 2 remove from heat.
- 3 add butter and cream and stir until smooth.
- 4 refrigerate for 1 hour.
- 5 roll mixture into one inch balls.
- 6 place on an aluminum foil baking sheet and freeze for 4 hours.
- 7 melt chocolate and shortening over low heat, stirring until smooth.
- 8 dip frozen truffles into chocolate and return to baking sheet.
- 9 roll in sprinkles or nuts, if desired.
- 10 refrigerate for 10-15 minutes for coating to set.
- 11 store in an airtight container.
