Cheese Puffs

Total Time: 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs, divided
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Recipe

  • 1 bring butter and water to a boil.
  • 2 mix in flour and salt, stir until dough is a solid ball.
  • 3 remove from stove and beat in 1 egg.
  • 4 add the other egg and beat until glossy and blended.
  • 5 beat in cheese and cayenne pepper.
  • 6 spoon batter into a large pastry bag fitted with a large fluted tip (or spoon batter into a large zip lock bag; gather batter to one corner of the bag and cut the tip off, about the size of a dime).
  • 7 dot the batter onto a greased baking tray about 1/4 inch apart.
  • 8 bake at 375 degrees fahrenheit for 30 minutes.
  • 9 *if you have a wheat allergy (as i do) us spelt flour or corn meal.
