Cheese Sauce

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 dash pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter in a heavy saucepan over low heat;
  • 2 add flour, salt and pepper, stirring until smooth. cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • 3 gradually add milk, cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
  • 4 add cheese; stir until cheese melts.
  • 5 yield: 1 1/4 cups.
