Caramel Popcorn

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 6 quarts popped popcorn
  • 1 cup margarine or 1 cup butter, melted
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 bring all ingredients, except popcorn, to a boil stirring constantly.
  • 2 boil five minutes without stirring.
  • 3 remove from heat.
  • 4 add 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 5 1/2 t. baking soda
  • 6 stir well.
  • 7 add to popped corn and stir until well coated.
  • 8 put into shallow pans and bake at 250 for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
  • 9 let cool completely.
  • 10 break up and store in air tight container.
