Cheese Refrigerator Rolls

Ingredients

- 2 (1/4 ounce) packages dry yeast
- 1/2 cup lukewarm water
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
- 4 1/2 cups sifted flour (approximate)
Recipe
- 1 mix yeast with water according to the package directions. set aside.
- 2 scald milk and add butter and sugar. cool to lukewarm.
- 3 add yeast mixture to milk, along with salt and eggs. mix well.
- 4 add cheese and flour to make a soft dough. turn out on a lightly floured board and knead until smooth.
- 5 place in a greased bowl, cover, and allow to rise in a warm place until double in bulk. punch down. grease with butter, cover, and store in the refrigerator.
- 6 before shaping into rolls, allow dough to stand for about 1 hour at room temperature. make into rolls and place on a greased sheet pan. allow to rise until double in bulk in a warm place.
- 7 bake at 375 degrees f for about 15 minutes, or until golden brown.
