faux peanut sauce

- 1/2 cup sliced green onion
- 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup tamari sauce
- 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1 tablespoon curry powder
- 1/2 cup salted almond butter

- heat sesame oil in a saucepan over medium heat. cook and stir green onions, sesame seeds, garlic, and red pepper flakes in hot oil until fragrant and onions start to soften, 2 to 3 minutes. stir chicken broth, tamari sauce, vinegar, sugar, and curry powder into onion mixture; bring to a simmer. whisk in almond butter and stir until thickened, about 5 minutes.
