Carmelized Fennel And Onion

Ingredients

- 2 large onions
- 2 large fennel bulbs
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
Recipe
- 1 cut up onions and fennel into large pieces removing to core of the fennel.
- 2 in a large skillet add olive oil, butter, fennel and onions.
- 3 cook on med high to high for about 10 minutes stirrig occasionally.
- 4 sprinkle with salt and stir.
- 5 reduce heat to medium and cook for another 20 to 40 minutes stirring occasionally.
- 6 check for desired doneness. i like it when it is mostly browned on all sides. be careful they don't become too dry.
- 7 remove from heat and add parmesan.
