Carmelized Fennel And Onion

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 2 large onions
  • 2 large fennel bulbs
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese

Recipe

  • 1 cut up onions and fennel into large pieces removing to core of the fennel.
  • 2 in a large skillet add olive oil, butter, fennel and onions.
  • 3 cook on med high to high for about 10 minutes stirrig occasionally.
  • 4 sprinkle with salt and stir.
  • 5 reduce heat to medium and cook for another 20 to 40 minutes stirring occasionally.
  • 6 check for desired doneness. i like it when it is mostly browned on all sides. be careful they don't become too dry.
  • 7 remove from heat and add parmesan.
