Aunt Rhoda's Caramel Corn

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 45 mins

Ingredients

  • 6 quarts popped popcorn
  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

Recipe

  • 1 place popcorn in large bowl and set aside.
  • 2 in saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt.
  • 3 bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • 4 boil for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 5 remove from heat.
  • 6 stir in vanilla and baking soda, mix well.
  • 7 pour over popcorn and stir until well coated.
  • 8 pour into 2 greased 13x9 pans.
  • 9 bake uncovered at 250 for 45 minutes.
  • 10 ,stirringevery 15 minutes.
  • 11 cool and store in airtight container.
