Butter Almond Crunch

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sliced almonds
- 3/4 cup shredded sweetened coconut
- 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Recipe
- 1 combine almonds and coconut.
- 2 spread in a thin layer over bottom of a buttered 13 x 9-inch pan.
- 3 melt butter or margine in a saucepan.
- 4 stir in the rest of the ingredients.
- 5 cook, without stirring until mixture comes to soft crack stage, 290 degrees f.
- 6 remove from heat and pour in a thin stream evenly over almonds and coconut.
- 7 cool.
- 8 break into pieces.
- 9 store in an air-tight container.
