Brooklyn Botanic Garden Herb Bread (bread Machine)

Total Time: 3 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 3 hrs

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 tablespoon gluten
  • 1 tablespoon caraway seed, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons fast rising yeast (or 2 1/2 t. bread machine yeast)

Recipe

  • 1 add all the ingredients to the pan according to the order in the manufacturer's directions.
  • 2 set crust on dark and program for the basic cycle; press start.
  • 3 when the baking cycle ends, immediately remove the bread from the pan and place it on a rack.
  • 4 let cool to room temperature before slicing.
  • 5 *this bread is great for stuffings.
