Carrot Casserole

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 12
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/2 lb cheese, sliced
  • 12 large carrots, thinly sliced, cooked till tender
  • buttered bread crumb

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter.
  • 2 add onion, flour and seasonings and stir until smooth. gradually add milk. stir over medium heat until thickened.
  • 3 arrange half of carrots in bottom of 2-1/2 qt casserole. add cheese slices.
  • 4 top with remaining carrots.
  • 5 pour sauce over all.
  • 6 top with buttered.
  • 7 bread crumbs.
  • 8 bake at 375 for 30 minute.
