Bourbon Nut Bread

Total Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 8 eggs, separated
  • 1 lb butter
  • 1/3 cup bourbon
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons almond extract
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 whip egg whites until stiff. add 1 cup sugar: set aside. cream butter and rest of sugar until light yellow. add egg yolks one at a time. alternately add flour, bourbon, vanilla and almond extracts. beat well. stir in nuts. fold in egg whites until smooth. divide batter into 3 greased loaf pans. bake at 325 for 1 - 1 1/2 hours until done. freezes well.
