Buttermilk Cornbread

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder, heaping
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

Recipe

  • 1 melt butter in cast iron skillet.
  • 2 combine all dry ingredients.
  • 3 beat in egg and buttermilk.
  • 4 fold in melted butter from skillet.
  • 5 pour into skillet and bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.
