Barbecued Chicken From The Oven

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (2 1/2-3 lb) broiler-fryer chickens, cut up
  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine, melted
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
  • 2 place butter or margarine in 13 x 9 pan and set in oven only long enough for butter or margarine to melt. watch carefully so you don't burn it! it won't take long to melt.
  • 3 mix the flour, paprika, salt and pepper well in zip-type plastic bag. shake chicken to coat in the mixture.
  • 4 place chicken skin side down in pan and bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
  • 5 mix ketchup, onion, water, vinegar, worcestershire sauce, salt, chili powder and pepper. combine well.
  • 6 remove chicken from oven and turn the pieces over. brush or spoon sauce on top of meat and bake 30 minutes more.
  • 7 enjoy!
