Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cornmeal
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Recipe

  • 1 combine cornmeal, baking powder, soda and salt in a large bowl, add eggs, buttermilk, and oil, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • 2 place in a well greased 10 inch cast iron skillet in a 450f oven for 25 minutes or until lightly browned.
